Player Safety First

Responsible Gambling — Play Smart, Stay in Control

Gambling is entertainment. At 1jje, we believe every player in Pakistan deserves the tools, information and support they need to keep it that way. This page covers everything you need to know about setting limits, recognising problem gambling, using self-exclusion and accessing support when it matters most.

18+

Adults Only — No Exceptions

18+ or the higher minimum required by the operator/licence jurisdiction. Local laws apply.

GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY

If gambling is causing you or someone close to you financial, emotional or relationship harm, please stop playing immediately and seek professional support. This page contains guidance and contact information to help you access the right resources.

Our Commitment

Why Responsible Gambling Matters to 1jje

For millions of people across Pakistan — from cricket fans in Lahore tracking PSL match odds to T20 enthusiasts in Karachi following ICC tournaments — gambling is recreational entertainment. The vast majority of players enjoy it exactly as intended: a fun, occasional activity with clear personal limits and no serious consequences.

But gambling can become harmful for a subset of players, and we take that seriously. Problem gambling does not always announce itself clearly. It can develop gradually, disguised as heightened interest or a run of unlucky sessions. That is precisely why responsible gambling tools need to be part of the platform experience from the very first deposit — not buried somewhere in account settings or disclosed only after a problem surfaces.

At 1jje, responsible gambling is built into how the platform operates, not treated as a regulatory checkbox. Deposit limits, session reminders, self-exclusion, cooling-off periods and access to professional support are all integrated features — available to every registered user at any time, no questions asked.

Legal reminder: Pakistan has gambling restrictions, including the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. 1jje does not claim to be licensed, approved or endorsed by any Pakistani government authority, the PTA or the State Bank of Pakistan. This page does not constitute legal advice. Users must assess their own legal position before participating in any gambling activity.

Our Principles

The 1jje Responsible Gambling Pledge

We pledge to our users:

  • Never to target vulnerable individuals or problem gamblers with promotional material.
  • To provide responsible gambling tools that are easy to find and simple to activate.
  • To honour all self-exclusion requests promptly and without resistance.
  • To enforce strict age verification — 18+ with no exceptions.
  • To communicate gambling risks honestly and without minimising them.
  • To signpost professional support services to any user who needs them.

Available Controls

Your Responsible Gambling Toolkit

Every registered 1jje user has access to the following player-protection tools. We encourage you to set appropriate limits before you start playing — not after a problem has already developed.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much real money you can deposit into your account. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits are accepted until the period resets. Reducing a deposit limit takes effect immediately; increasing a limit may be subject to a cooling-off delay per operator policy.

Loss Limits

Define the maximum amount you are prepared to lose within a defined period — daily, weekly or monthly. When your net losses reach that threshold, your account is restricted from further real-money wagering until the period ends. This is one of the most direct tools for controlling spending risk.

Session Time Limits & Reminders

Set a maximum session duration. When your playing time reaches the limit, you receive a notification and may be prompted to continue or close your session. Regular time reminders — available in intervals such as 30, 60 or 90 minutes — help you stay aware of how long you have been playing.

Cooling-off Period

Take a short break from gambling without committing to full self-exclusion. Cooling-off periods typically range from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During a cooling-off period, you cannot place bets or make deposits. Marketing communications are suspended for the duration.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need a longer break or are concerned about your gambling behaviour, you can request self-exclusion. Minimum exclusion periods are typically 30 days; permanent self-exclusion is also available. Self-exclusion requests are processed promptly — your account will be closed to real-money activity for the full exclusion duration.

Reality Checks

Periodic on-screen notifications during gaming sessions remind you of how long you have been playing, your net gambling position (wins minus losses for the session) and give you the option to close the session and review your account. Reality checks are a simple but effective way to maintain perspective.

How to Set Your Limits

1

Log in to Your Account

Navigate to your Account dashboard using your registered username and password via the 1jje Platform.

2

Find the Responsible Gambling Section

Within Account Settings, locate the "Responsible Gambling" or "Player Protection" menu. All limit and exclusion tools are grouped here.

3

Set Your Preferred Limits

Enter your desired deposit limit, loss limit or session time limit. Select the relevant period (daily, weekly or monthly). Confirm your selection.

4

Confirm & Review Regularly

Your limits take effect immediately upon confirmation. Review and adjust them periodically as your circumstances change — but remember, reducing limits is instant while increasing them may require a waiting period.

If you are unable to locate responsible gambling tools within your account, contact 1jje support at [email protected] for immediate assistance. We will help you access the tools or escalate to the operator directly.

Recommended Limit Reference

Daily Deposit Limit
Set a realistic cap based on what you can comfortably afford to lose in a single day. A common starting point for recreational players is PKR 500 – PKR 2,000 per day.
Weekly Loss Limit
Consider setting a weekly loss cap at no more than you would budget for a leisure activity. If you find yourself hitting this limit consistently, it is time to reassess your gambling habits.
Monthly Deposit Budget
A monthly budget makes it easier to track your overall spending. Treat it like any other entertainment expense — once the budget is used, stop until the next month.
Session Duration Reminder
Setting a 60-minute session reminder is a reasonable starting point for most players. Long, uninterrupted gambling sessions are associated with higher risk of impulsive decisions and loss-chasing behaviour.

The figures above are illustrative only and not financial advice. Each player's financial situation is different. Set limits that reflect your own income, expenses and risk tolerance — not what others are betting.

Age Restriction

18+ Only — Strictly Enforced

The 1jje Platform is for adults only. No individual under the age of 18 — or the higher minimum age required by the applicable operator licence jurisdiction — may register, deposit or place any bet on the Platform. This restriction is non-negotiable and is enforced through mandatory identity and age verification as part of the KYC process.

For Pakistani users, age verification requires submission of a valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) — which is issued to individuals aged 18 and above — or an equivalent valid passport. An Account that cannot be verified as belonging to an adult will be suspended pending resolution or permanently closed.

If you are a parent or guardian and are concerned that a person under 18 in your household may be accessing gambling sites, we strongly recommend using parental control and content-filtering software on shared devices. Responsible use of internet filtering tools is one of the most effective ways to prevent under-age gambling exposure.

Strictly prohibited: Any attempt by an under-age individual to register or access the 1jje Platform — including through the use of another person's identity documents — may result in legal consequences and will be reported to the appropriate authority.

Warning Signs

Recognising Problem Gambling

Problem gambling rarely starts with a single dramatic event. It develops over time and can be difficult to recognise — especially when it is happening to you. The following are recognised warning signs that gambling may have moved beyond recreational entertainment:

  • Gambling with money you cannot afford to lose — rent, household expenses or savings.
  • Chasing losses: placing more bets to try to recover what you have already lost.
  • Lying to family members, friends or employers about how much time or money you spend on gambling.
  • Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when you are unable to gamble.
  • Borrowing money — including through Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank transfers — specifically to fund gambling.
  • Gambling as a way to escape stress, depression or personal problems rather than as entertainment.
  • Gambling for longer periods than you intended despite promising yourself you would stop.
  • Repeated unsuccessful efforts to cut back or stop gambling on your own.
  • Neglecting work, family or personal responsibilities due to gambling.
  • Continuing to gamble despite serious negative consequences in your personal or financial life.

If you recognise two or more of these warning signs in your own behaviour, we strongly encourage you to use the self-exclusion tool, set strict deposit limits or contact a professional support service immediately. Acknowledging a problem is the first and most important step.

Self-Assessment

Ask Yourself These Questions

Honest self-reflection is one of the most valuable responsible gambling tools available. Review the following questions and reflect on your answers privately. If the majority of your answers raise concern, please consider using the support options listed below.

Self-Assessment Checklist

1

Have you ever spent more money gambling than you originally planned to spend in that session?

2

Have you ever missed a family event, work commitment or personal responsibility because you were gambling or thinking about gambling?

3

Have you ever placed additional bets immediately after a loss in an attempt to win back what you lost?

4

Have you ever borrowed money — from family, friends or financial services — to fund gambling?

5

Have you ever felt that you need to gamble with increasingly larger amounts to get the same level of excitement?

6

Have you ever kept your gambling activity secret from family members or significant people in your life?

7

Have you ever used gambling as a way to cope with stress, anxiety, loneliness or unhappiness?

8

Have you ever tried to stop or reduce your gambling and found that you could not sustain that decision for more than a few days?

Getting Help

Support Resources & Professional Help

You do not have to deal with gambling-related problems alone. The following guidance covers how to get help, what to expect from professional support, and how 1jje can assist you in stopping or reducing your gambling activity.

Talk to Someone

Speaking openly about gambling problems with a trusted family member, close friend or mental health professional is often the most effective first step. You are not alone — millions of people around the world have experienced problem gambling and recovered with appropriate support.

Professional Counselling

Qualified counsellors and therapists with expertise in behavioural addiction — including gambling disorder — are available in major Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. A qualified mental health professional can provide confidential, evidence-based treatment and support.

Licence Jurisdiction Resources

Where the associated operator holds a gaming licence, the licensing authority typically maintains approved responsible gambling support resources and may operate or recognise multi-operator self-exclusion schemes. Check the operator's platform for details of the applicable licence and associated resources.

Request Self-Exclusion Now

If you need to stop gambling immediately, request self-exclusion through your account settings or contact 1jje support at [email protected]. Self-exclusion requests are actioned as a priority. Your account will be closed to real-money activity for the duration you specify — minimum 30 days.

Note on Support Resources: 1jje references the availability of professional counselling and responsible gambling support in general terms. We do not fabricate or invent specific helpline numbers, organisational endorsements or named support services that we cannot verify as currently operational in Pakistan. If you require specific help, please speak to a qualified healthcare or mental health professional in your city, or consult the responsible gambling section of the operator's licensed platform for verified, up-to-date resources applicable to that licence jurisdiction.

Common Questions

Responsible Gambling — Frequently Asked Questions

The minimum age to register and use the 1jje Platform is 18 years old, or the higher minimum age required by the applicable operator licence jurisdiction. This restriction applies to all users regardless of location. Age verification is mandatory as part of the KYC process and any account found to belong to an under-age individual will be immediately suspended.

Log in to your account and navigate to Account Settings, then find the Responsible Gambling or Player Protection section. From there you can set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits. Reducing a limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit may be subject to a cooling-off delay as per the operator's responsible gambling policy — this delay is by design to protect you from impulsive decisions.

Self-exclusion closes your account to all real-money gambling activity for a defined period. Minimum exclusion periods are typically 30 days; permanent self-exclusion is also available. Once a self-exclusion is in place, it cannot be reversed for the duration of the selected period — this is intentional and is there to protect you. Marketing emails are also suspended during a self-exclusion. To request self-exclusion, use the tool in your account settings or contact support directly.

Stop playing immediately. Log in to your account and activate self-exclusion, or contact 1jje support at [email protected] to request urgent account restriction. Do not make any further deposits or place any more bets while you are in this state of uncertainty. Reach out to a trusted family member or friend, or seek professional counselling. Acknowledging that you may have a problem is the most important step — and it is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Yes. Deposit limits, loss limits, session time reminders and reality checks can all be applied without closing your account. A cooling-off period is another option that temporarily restricts your account for a defined period without triggering full self-exclusion. These tools are designed to help you manage gambling as entertainment — not to force you to stop entirely if that is not what you need.
